WHO CAN APPLY?

Applicants wishing to apply to Hakkari University as international students must either be in their final year of secondary education (high school) or have already graduated from a secondary education institution.

Applicants Eligible to Apply

The following applicants are eligible to apply:

  • Foreign nationals;

  • Individuals who were Turkish citizens by birth but have obtained permission from the Ministry of Interior to renounce Turkish citizenship, and their minor children registered in the certificate of renunciation of Turkish citizenship;

  • Individuals who acquired Turkish citizenship after being foreign nationals, as well as dual nationals in this category;

  • Turkish citizens who were enrolled in secondary education abroad before 1 February 2013 and who completed the last three years of their secondary education in a foreign country other than the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC);

  • Applicants who started secondary education abroad after 1 February 2013 and completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country other than the TRNC;

  • Applicants who completed their entire secondary education at Turkish schools established abroad under the authority of the Turkish Ministry of National Education, excluding those located in the TRNC;

  • Citizens of the TRNC who reside in the TRNC, have completed their secondary education there, and possess GCE AL examination results;

  • Citizens of the TRNC who enrolled in colleges or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010 and who possess or will possess GCE AL examination results.

Applicants Not Eligible to Apply

The following applicants are not eligible to apply:

  • Turkish citizens who completed their entire secondary education in Türkiye or in the TRNC;

  • Citizens of the TRNC;

    However, applicants who completed their entire secondary education in high schools in the TRNC and possess GCE AL examination results, as well as those who studied in colleges or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010 and possess or will possess GCE AL examination results, are exempt from this restriction.

  • Dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is Turkish citizenship;

    However, applicants who meet the exceptional conditions specified in the relevant admission criteria are exempt from this restriction.

  • Dual nationals holding one nationality from the TRNC;

    However, applicants who completed their entire secondary education in high schools in the TRNC and possess GCE AL examination results, as well as those who studied in colleges or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010 and possess or will possess GCE AL examination results, are exempt from this restriction.

  • Turkish citizens studying at schools affiliated with embassies in Türkiye or at foreign high schools located in Türkiye;

  • Dual nationals whose first nationality by birth is Turkish citizenship and who study at schools affiliated with embassies in Türkiye or at foreign high schools located in Türkiye.

Applications are evaluated by the International Student Commission of Hakkari University in accordance with the announced quotas, accepted examination and/or diploma scores, applicants’ preferences, and the relevant evaluation criteria.
